The thanksgiving which took place at Family Worship Centre headquarter, Wuye – Abuja, was been celebrated by all members and visitors to thank God for the wonderful things God is doing for the church and it’s members. It is recorded that in recent time, God had done tremendous things and the church cannot wait till June for the Mid-year thanksgiving rather than to pulse and thank God early. Normally, thanksgiving service is hold twice a year. The first took place in June called mid-year thanksgiving and the second come in November.
For the first time thanksgiving is observed early in the year in FWC. The thanksgiving service was held to honour God for the wondrous things God is doing in the church. So many people have been promoted to high level in Government in recent times and it is clear that the hand of God is involve. It is to acknowledge the fact that behind all the promotions, there is a God who is at work. It is an acknowledgement of the fact that promotion, elevation does not come from neither the east or west, or sought or north but from God.
Pastor Wilson Akubo, the branch pastor stress the need to thank God early in the year saying that some years ago, the late Pastor Ina Omakwu, the founder of the commission do prophecy saying “you will become this in this city; serve your God, serve humanity, be faithful in your office and one day you will be this in your office,” there was a far distance to those prophecies but now we see them coming to pass. We have come to let God know that we are not forgetful. It is another praise that more will come. God is specialize in taking everything the enemy throws at us and molding it into blessings for us.
Some of the celebrants present at the thanksgiving service include;
Mr. Edward Lametek Adamu, Deputy Governor of CBN; Dr. Musa Wen Ibrahim, Permanent Secretary – Federal Ministry of Water Resources; AVM Olatokunbo Adesanya, Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI); EHURIA GEORGINA EKEOMA, permanent Secretary – Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation; Didi Esther Walson-Jack, permanent Secretary – Office of the Head of Service of the Federation and Boss Gidahyelda Mustpha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The celebrants, who all shared their experiences, express their gratitude to God. According to them, it is a privilege. the position they are now is one more evidence of God’s faithfulness in their lives.
Edward Lametek Adamu, who was among the celebrants says his thanksgiving to God is because he belongs to God and for his wife and his life as a public servant. He said the challenge at work was much that he decided he was going to resign long before now but his wife told him not to, added that at most times God allow us to be face with challenges so we can be prepare for greatness. Before applying for his present position he had met with people who told him it wasn’t going to be possible because of his faith, region and competence. But Now he is the Deputy Governor of CBN, approved and nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari.
AVM Olatokunbo Adesanya, says he was not known by the Chief of Airstaff but now he is the person speaking with the Chief of Airstaff every day. It can only be God. I have broken through geographical protocol because of God. For him it is not about who you know or whether anyone sees your work, as long as you are faithful, God has a way… he said.
Dr. Musa Wen Ibrahim also shared how he had suffered cast down. now, he is the permanent Secretary – water resources. When it is God’s will, nobody… he said.
Pastor Sarah Omakwu, the senior pastor of the church however blessed and annoint the celebrants for effective and functional service while advising them to be diligent. She also urge them to continue at what they are doing to the higher level. The thanksgiving is a rejoicing in advance for what God will do in the year, she said.
