Governor Wike Orders Demolition Of Prudent And Etemeteh Hotel For Violating Lockdown Orders

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has ordered the demolition of Prudent Hotel located at Local Government Area of the state and Etemeteh Hotel, for violating lockdown orders in the state.

Due to coronavirus pandemic, the Rivers State Governor had declared a total lockdown on Obio-Akpor and Port Harcourt City Local Government Areas which is the two major cities in the state.

The decision was to in effort to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the state. Inter-state borders, markets, restaurants, hotels were closed among other businesses.

The governor marked out the two hotels for demolition after it allegedly disobeyed the state lockdown order.

The action which started like a treat warning to other hotel owners later brought shock the demolition truck accompanied by the Governor and and some officials of the Rivers State task force arrived the area eventually brought down the building.
