Speaker: Pastor Sarah Omakwu
Scriptures: Gen. 12:1, Gal. 3:13-14
If you are a caregroup leader, or belong to a caregroup, or have a family, you are a nation. The blessing of Abraham hangs over your head everyday. You should walk around everyday with the thought that you are a blessing. If you meditate on this daily, you will be as you think. There is someone who thinks and thanks God for you everyday. Greatness is the impact you make on someone’s life on a daily basis. If you are not great you can start today by making someone think of you everyday by being a blessing to them.
You should bless in this order; God, your family, your parents, your siblings, your pastors, widows and orphans, friends, teachers and others (poor people, neighbours, colleagues, strangers and aliens – people from other nations)
Your family: 1 Timothy 5:8
The man should take care of his home.
As a family, outdo each other in love.
Your money as a woman does not belong to the woman, it belongs to all, so does the man’s.
Be generous to your spouse and your family.
Your ambition as a man must be that your wife is more bigger, happier and laughing more now than you met her.
When there are promotions in the family, celebrate each other.
Don’t teach your children scarcity, teach them abundance and prosperity.
Teach your children to know that when they ask they can have.
As children, obey your parents and as adults honour them. A time comes when the parents become the children and the children become the parents.
We owe it to our parents to give back.
Your Parents: 2 Corinthians 12:14, 1 Timothy 5:4
When you have an abundance mentality you give your parents more than they expect.
No parent should be neglected by their children, no matter what their offense was.
You owe your parents only one thing – Honour.
When there is no forgiveness in your heart, it is scarcity mentality.
You must support your parents on a monthly basis, no matter how rich they are. Send them money no matter how small it is, don’t spend it on things for them, let them spend it by themselves.
Your parents can never be a liability.
Take care of your parents and also plan to leave an inheritance for your children.
Your Brothers and Sisters
Genesis 4:8-10, Proverbs 17:17 (NLT)
Your brothers and sisters are God’s best gift to you, they are the first community God gave you. They are there to be your defenders, providers and friends. Seek to make them great, watch out for them, bless them, make them independent of you; the more they all succeed, the better for you.
Your Pastor: 1 Corinthians 9:7
Those who preach the gospel should eat from the gospel.
Factor men of God in your giving, seek for their success and well-being.
Always give an offering to your pastors, they are labourers in God’s vineyard and they deserve their wages.
