The Kano state government has announced additional one week extension of the lockdown in the state.
This is in effort to help fight the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The announcement made by the state commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, said the decision was reached after due consultations with the federal government and key stakeholders in the health sector.
The measure is aimed further reduce the spread.
While acknowledging the consequences of the decision on the public, Malam Garba call for patience and full support as they fight against the pandemic.
He also called on the people to continue to observe strict personal hygiene through regular hand washing, use of face masks and social distancing.
