Lockdown Ease: Should Nigerians Take The Risk In The Ease Of Lockdown?

Yesterday the federal government announced the decision to begin ease of lockdown in the FCT, Lagos and Ogun from May 4th.

This is not because the pandemic is over but based on effort to help the less venerable survive the pandemic as effort from the government seems not reach all – of course you know Nigerians would have reacted differently if the federal government have ignored lifting the lockdown.

With the continuous increase in the number of new cases of Covid-19 reported daily by NCDC across the different part of the country and the fact that Nigerians will gradually resume hustle few days from now ‘even as there will be mandatory use of face mask as well as putting other preventive measures into consideration.

If you focus on Lagos, which is the epicentre of this virus at the moment, with the continues increase recorded daily, and the decision of Mr. President to relax lockdown. I hope Nigeria will not repeat the same mistake that happened during the Spanish Flu pandemic which occurs in 1918, in this next face.

Since the disease is still yet recorded, there could be the possibility of having so many people infected if business finally resume now.

What’s your advice to Nigerians in regards to ease of lockdown? Should risks be ignored?
