The Black Mid-year Thanksgiving At FWC

The mid-year thanksgiving at the FWC yesterday, 1st July was tag “Black Mid-Year Thanksgiving.”

Addressing the participants, Pastor Wilson Akubo, the branch pastor, wuye chapter, explain that the church set aside, basically two times in a year to rejoice with God’s goodness and kindness to the church as a people. And to honour God as the owner of life, supplier of needs and the strenght of homes.

However, these thanksgiving is different because of Nigeria is been shaking by violence and death. We are here to rejoice most importantly, the black is to identify with lots of Nigerians in Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Lagos and all other part of the courtry where innocent lives of Nigerians have been cut short.
“By rejocing and doing thanksgiving we demonstrate our faith in God, declearing that nomatter what is happening God is still a good God. And telling the berieved ‘we mourn with you, your pains is our pains, we have not forgotten you, we are with you in this.”

The pastor reciting the scription from Rom.12:15 “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep,” charge all to rejoice and be thankful in every secomstance, added that by so doing God will fulfil the repitation of 2Chron.20:22 “And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, which were come against judah; and they were smiten.” Assuring the general puplic that there is going to be ambushes against boko haram, fulaning headsmen, ritual killers and all the enemy of Nigeria.
